Compounding FAQ
“Compounding” is how we prepare pharmaceutical therapies for an individual patient. Most drugs sold today are manufactured in a factory. Compounding is necessary when mass-produced drugs don’t meet patients’ needs. They may be allergic to mass-produced ingredients. Or they would benefit from therapies customized to their bodies. Or the therapy they need isn’t mass-produced.
Regular pharmacies dispense mass-produced medications; we prepare each medication in our laboratory. We work closely with physicians, caregivers, and patients to ensure that we formulate a specific medicine tailored to each patient’s needs and therapeutic goals.

There are several reasons someone might require compounded medications:
- The dose you need may not be produced commercially
- You may need an alternate delivery method
- The medication or hormone may not be available commercially
- You may be allergic to certain dyes, binders or preservatives in available “off-the-shelf” medications.
No. Unlike most compounding pharmacies, MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ specializes in specific hormone replacements, erectile dysfunction, sexual health, and veterinary therapies. We believe that specializing allows us to be better at what we do. We’re also a PCAB Accredited pharmacy and have achieved accreditation in both general and sterile compounding. That’s a fancy way of saying we’re independently verified to meet and exceed the highest ethical and quality standards. We monitor and document cleanroom temperature and humidity daily. Our staff is trained in proper gowning, aseptic techniques, clean room policies, and USP guidelines. We purchase only high-grade chemicals from FDA approved suppliers and we obtain certificates of analysis for all formula ingredients. We perform pH testing and verify the potency of compounds.
