A Compounding Pharmacy Built for Patients, Not Convenience

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ started as a frustration. Joe McCloskey owned a retail pharmacy and genuinely loved caring for his patients – but he kept running into the same wall. Chain stores and drug companies were not built to meet individual patient needs. Dosing was fixed. Formulations were limited. The system was designed for efficiency, not for the person holding the prescription.

So in 1999, Joe started MediVera Compounding Pharmacy to do it differently – providing quality customized medications at prices patients could actually afford. Getting the levels right, building a better fulfillment workflow, developing a reputation for care over convenience: it was a lot of work. And it was worth every bit of it.

MediVera grew quickly – earning a reputation as one of the best compounding pharmacies in the country, especially for hormone therapies. Today, Joe’s son Brad owns and runs the business, continuing the tradition his father started nearly 27 years ago. Family-owned then. Family-owned now. And still built around the same purpose: Helping One Patient at a Time Live Their Best Life.

Why Providers and Patients Choose MediVera Compounding Pharmacy

Most compounding pharmacies will tell you they prioritize quality. Few can prove it the way we can. Here is what sets MediVera apart:

  • PCAB Dual Accreditation – MediVera holds PCAB accreditation in both sterile AND non-sterile compounding. Fewer than 1% of compounding pharmacies in the U.S. carry this distinction – and the American Medical Association recommends patients use only PCAB-accredited pharmacies.
  • $60,000+ Monthly Third-Party Testing Investment – Every month, we invest more than $30,000 in independent, third-party testing of our compounded medications. This is not required by law. We do it because our patients deserve to know what is in every compound.
  • State-of-the-Art 56,000 Sq Ft Facility – Our Troy, MI facility opened in 2025 and includes ISO-7 cleanrooms and ISO-5 hoods, purpose-built for USP 795, 797, and 800 compliance. It is one of the most advanced compounding pharmacy facilities in the country.
  • 120+ Staff – Compounding at scale without sacrificing attention to detail requires the right team. Our staff includes nine dedicated compounding pharmacists with deep expertise across seven therapeutic categories.
  • Licensed in 46 States and Counting – Whether your patients are in California or New York, MediVera Compounding Pharmacy’s Troy, Michigan facility serves 46+ states and Washington D.C. nationwide.
  • 90%+ Patient Satisfaction, 94% Customer Service Rating – Our satisfaction numbers are not estimates. They are measured, tracked, and reported. Most of our compounds ship within 48 hours. We answer most calls within 30 seconds.
  • 27+ Years of Compounding Experience – Founded in 1999 by Joe McCloskey and now led by his son Bradley, MediVera has nearly three decades of operational excellence behind every prescription we fill. That family-built history matters when quality and consistency are non-negotiable.

Whether you are a healthcare provider evaluating a new pharmacy partner or a patient who needs a personalized compound filled by pharmacists who care – MediVera is ready to earn your trust.

Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety or effectiveness and are prepared by prescription for individual patients. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any treatment. Providers are solely responsible for determining the appropriateness of compounded medications for their patients.

Frequently Asked Questions About MediVera Compounding Pharmacy

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ holds PCAB accreditation in both sterile and non-sterile compounding – a dual distinction held by fewer than 1% of compounding pharmacies in the United States. PCAB (Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board) accreditation means a pharmacy has undergone rigorous third-party review of its quality systems, facilities, and compounding practices. The American Medical Association recommends patients obtain compounded medications only from PCAB-accredited pharmacies. MediVera first achieved PCAB accreditation in 2017 and has maintained it through continued investment in its facilities, staff, and quality standards. To learn more about what this means for your prescriptions, visit our Quality and Compliance page.

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ is licensed to dispense compounded medications in 46+ states across the U.S., including Washington D.C., Nevada, and Texas, with ongoing expansion. MediVera operates as a 503A compounding pharmacy and ships prescriptions directly to patients in all licensed states through its telehealth fulfillment model. States currently served include AK, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IA, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY, DC, and NV. While based in Troy, Michigan, MediVera serves patients nationwide through direct-to-patient shipping. If you are unsure whether MediVera can fill prescriptions for your patients, check our service areas page or call us directly at 877-531-1147.

A compounding pharmacy creates personalized medications customized to meet individual patient needs that cannot be addressed by standard commercially manufactured drugs. Unlike retail pharmacies that dispense pre-manufactured, FDA-approved medications in fixed doses and forms, a compounding pharmacy works from a licensed prescriber’s order to create a compound specific to that patient’s requirements – adjusting dose, delivery method, or formulation. MediVera is a 503A compounding pharmacy, which means every compound it produces requires an individualized prescription from a licensed healthcare provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved products. To learn about the compounding services MediVera offers across seven therapeutic categories, visit our Compounding Services page.

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ invests more than $30,000 per month in independent, third-party testing of its compounded medications – well beyond what is required for a 503A compounding pharmacy. Testing protocols include potency, sterility, endotoxin, and beyond-use dating verification, conducted by accredited outside laboratories. MediVera’s facility meets USP 795 (non-sterile), USP 797 (sterile), and USP 800 (hazardous drugs) standards, with ISO-7 cleanrooms and ISO-5 laminar flow hoods supporting its sterile compounding operations. This level of independent testing investment is not standard practice in the industry – it reflects MediVera’s commitment to verifiable quality. For a full overview of compliance and testing standards, visit the Quality and Compliance page.

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy reviews can be found on Google, where the pharmacy maintains a verified business profile at 5225 Crooks Rd, Troy, MI. Reading reviews before choosing a compounding pharmacy is a smart step – and MediVera tracks satisfaction far beyond public platforms. Internal quality measurements show a 90%+ patient satisfaction rating and a 94% customer service rating, reflecting USP-compliant care standards, 48-hour compound fulfillment, and sub-30-second call answer times. These are the metrics providers evaluate when selecting a PCAB-accredited compounding partner. If you want to go deeper, you can verify MediVera’s PCAB accreditation status directly through the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board, or speak with our team directly – most calls are answered within 30 seconds.

Prescriptions can be submitted to MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ through several channels, including the online provider portal, EMR integration, fax, or by phone at 877-531-1147. Patients cannot submit prescriptions directly – a valid prescription from a licensed healthcare provider is required for all compounded medications. Once MediVera receives a prescription, the team contacts the patient within one business day to confirm details, process payment, and arrange shipping. Most compounds ship within 48 hours. Existing patients can also use the Quick Refill option for prescription refills. If you are a provider setting up a new account, contact us to get started.

MediVera Compounding Pharmacy™ offers compounded medications across seven primary therapeutic categories, prepared based on individual prescriptions from licensed healthcare providers. These categories include weight management compounds, hormone replacement therapy (HRT/BHRT), men’s health and testosterone replacement, women’s health and wellness, longevity and peptide compounds, dermatology formulations, and veterinary/pet medications. Each category includes a range of dosing forms and delivery methods that can be customized to meet individual patient needs. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are prepared based on an individualized prescription when a commercially available alternative is unavailable or unsuitable for the patient.
